Winter Necessities

Winter! Sigh. How I miss the four seasons and a real winter – yes, I’m the only person in L.A. that loves rain, wind and snow. Despite the rather balmy winter weather in SoCal it does actually get chilly here, necessitating a winter wardrobe. Here are a few of my fave essentials that are sure to keep you looking hot this season:

Leopard Prints

Be the snow leopard! Roah! Is that how you roar? From Dolce and Gabbana to Salvatore Ferragamo, designers are pouncing to get their latest creations on the catwalk. If you want to look like you’re on the prowl, consider a Gucci big cat coat. These purrfect outfits will definitely leave a mark wherever you go. And if a whole leopard ensemble, like Moschino, doesn’t meet your feline fancy, try leopard accessories. Pops of the print on your shoes or handbags are sure to make your look a roaring success. Speaking of leopard, I’m obsessed with JAMAH’s Helen in Leopard.

Isn't Helen the prettiest leopard evoar!

The Midi

Aka the mid-calf skirt is a sure reminder to us Angelinos that we are skirting around winter (sorry, northeast friends, but we can just get away with it). And we have Christina Hendricks from Mad Men to thank (what you thought Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent did this on their own?)! While I admit to being a tad obsessed with Hendricks, it’s because she’s the quintessential classy yet seductive femme fatale. There are many ways to spice this secretary look up: showing off your bare legs, wearing a leather skirt or pairing it up with a curve hugging corset. Marc Jacobs even paired the midi with socks, but I have my reservations.

Louis Vuitton has some great midi's all about the curves

Colored Heels

Luckily, we don’t have to trudge through inches of snow either. Talk about taking the midi to a whole other level, these heels are sure to give any skirt an instant youthful and fun twist. Stella McCartney and DVF have great styles. While I’m not the biggest Marc Jacobs’ sock and skirt combo, he might have been on to something with the socks. I loved a Prada look I saw with complementing socks; c‘est chic!

Somehow I need to fit in a trip or two to a true winter wonderland then all I would need is this season’s Chanel.
